Business Control Tower Support Managers - Customer Service Managers – Yodel – Hatfield
Are you an experienced Administrator / Account Manager/ Transport Supervisor / Customer Services Manager looking for a career change with experience gained in either the Logistics, Retail, Transport or even a fast paced sector like hospitality!
The important stuff:
Shift Pattern – Working 5 out of 7 days this role is working the PM shift of 2pm-10pm however we do operate 24/7 so you maybe with notice be required to cover other shifts.

Yodel handle 145 million+ parcels a year and 1 million+ are delivered on a “peak” day, in order to do this we have amazing people all working hard across the operation to sort, transport and deliver our customers gifts, shopping and everything down to the kitchen sink ok well maybe not a sink!
At the heart of our business we have just opened a state-of-the-art information and insights “Control Tower” that is providing us with an end-to-end overview of our operation across the UK. The Business Control Tower has 24/7 visibility of our entire network so we can react to changes such as road closures or bad weather, take pre-emptive actions, and inform clients in real time. Located in a purpose-built area of our Hatfield head office, the business control tower runs 24/7 with a team of 10 Support Mangers. We’re looking for someone like you to be part of this high profile and amazing team.
What you’ll be doing:
You’ll be an essential member of the Control Tower, our Support Managers are improving our operational performance and compliance for all Clients, by providing data and investigatory analysis to understand the cause of issues that arise and support us to find a quick and effective solution! Working across many different departments, you’ll support with volume forecasting and management and ensure our Clients are on or above SLA targets.
This role is very varied and working in fast paced and high pressure environment, you’ll be the first point of call when anything could potentially stop us or already has happened to delay us getting our parcels to where they need to get to. You’ll be collating data from numerous reports (we love excel reports) and be comfortable to review the information to identify issues, trends and help us get ahead of the game, so if the same problem keeps happening we can find out why and put a fix in place.
You’ll love working as part of a team to get the job done and have amazing customer service skills as you’ll be in regular contact with our clients as well as internal colleagues from Drivers to the Directors. You can’t be shy in this role and you’ll be confident picking up the phone or emailing whoever you need to, to request information and share updates.
You’ll be comfortable working with various IT systems, especially with MS Office packages and Excel. You’ll have access to a data-wall which shows our forecasts, volumes moving through the network in real-time, and operational progress against plan.
It is always busy so you’ll be confident, be able to be re-active but still maintain a professional attitude, remain organised and not be easily overwhelmed. Oh and we want people who know and know how to have fun – we love what we do and we want you to feel the same.
