Transport Operator/Administrator - Hatfield
Known in our business as a Transport Operator we have a new opportunity available for an Administrator or those of you already working in Transport looking for a change in direction.

At the heart of Yodel delivery business we have 3 National Sort and Transport Hubs based in Hatfield, Wednesbury and Shaw receiving parcels from our high profile clients, sorting these and ensuring safe delivery to one of our 45+ National Service Centres. Yodel handle 145 million+ parcels a year and 1 million+ delivered on a peak day! We have 1,200 Trailers in our fleet used for bulk trunking to/from our 40+ nationally based Sort centres at heart of which are our Transport Operation.
About The role:
You'll be working at the heart of the night shift and be joining our friendly Transport Team in Hatfield. In this role you’ll be working with various Transport Systems including Isotrak which shows where all our drivers are across the country, Tachomaster which records how long our drivers have been on the road and records their breaks as well as Excel based records to ensure we are compliant with driving legislations and we’re getting our trailers out on time.
Don’t worry if you haven’t worked in in the Transport Industry before we’ll train you on the systems and the legal stuff you need to know!
What you’ll be doing:
Reporting into the Shift Manager, you’ll be helping Hatfield's Transport team to ensure delivery schedules are always achieved.
•Monitoring planned schedules for Hatfield’s Transport team escalating any issues to ensure we operate within agreed service levels.
•Using our Transport Systems, you’ll help with trailer allocation.
•Monitor the working time directive 48hr average and support us to review and report on driving infringements.
•Check on the arrival and departures of our vehicles to make sure we are setting out on time and meeting our SLA’s – customer satisfaction is key!
•Administrative tasks such as keeping our drivers records up to date so for example their driving license expiry dates and training records.
•Supporting on the Transport front desk, dealing with agency and employer drivers queries, offering friendly and efficient support to our drivers.
You’ll already have gained experience in a fast-paced office environment in an Admin role.
We’d like to hear from you if this sounds like you:
•It goes without saying you’ll be organised, have excellent attention to detail and able to manage your workload.
•Be confident to work with various IT Systems and especially working with data in Excel.
•A confident communicator and happy working alongside our drivers and Managers alike.
•Up to date knowledge of driver’s hours and working time regulations would be fantastic but not essential as we’ll give you all the training you need to understand these areas.
